2015 Day 21 - Snapshots of Reality

The reality of today is that its my mother's 73rd birthday.

We got up early to go to PJ's allergist appointment...which was a feat in and of itself, but we managed to get there early.  PJ was great with the allergist (McDreamy for sure!)  We had to take him for a blood draw and he was quiet worried and upset, but did an excellent job.  He was upset afterwards having to have a band-aid on that he made me hold his arm at the injection site for the 30 minutes that we needed to keep the band-aid on...well, that was a feat in and of itself because he never.stops.moving....so it was a challenge.  It was cold out too, so we couldn't leave the building because he needed a coat on and I wasn't allowed to take my had off his arm...lol!

After all that drama was done, we took Graeme home to work on moving his piles and/or wrap presents while PJ and I went to the indoor gym.  He ran around and played but it was a little overwhelming because there were a ton of kids there (he's used to being there in the summer when its empty).

Anyway, the reality of the day was that I did nothing for preparing for Christmas...but did have a few hours at the play-place to watch a couple of Christmas movies.  AND it was day 1 of 4 of operation 'clean up crap before Christmas Eve guests arrive'

2014 Day 21 - Snapshots of Reality

Well....since I am doing these entries many, many days late, I didn't read the prompt to take a photo of our reality on Dec 21...but I do recall that our house WAS a disaster zone!

I had rolls of paper all over the living room floor because I was wrapping gifts late into the wee hours every night.  GJA's piles of CRAP were all over the floor and on top of every flat surface.

TODAY we had to get up and ready to go downtown for our Christmas Symphony at the Winspear centre.  We enjoyed it a ton.  They had a guest artist...who had won some Junos - she was quite eclectic and folksy...she had a nice voice, but her style isn't my favourite.

GJA had to leave the concert early to go to the Oiler game.  After the concert was done, PJ and I went down to the Legislature grounds to see the lights.  I never went there as a kid, but I did go down a couple of times as an adult - so it was fun for me to see all the lights.  PJ wasn't too impressed, but I enjoyed it.

Today is my mother's 72nd birthday - and she, and my father, were picking up my brother Dean at the airport (coming in from Kelowna for Christmas...YAY!)

2013 Day 21 - Snapshots of Reality

Today is the shortest day of the year - and also my mother's 71st birthday.

Our house is in a state of disaster - DH is a pack-rat/hoarder and there are piles of his crap all over the place.  I have taken over the kitchen table with wrapping paper.  The kiddo keeps dumping out ALL of his toys, in front of the tree each.and.every.day.

Gifts that are already wrapped and stacked in the closet

Did minimal errands & a good thing it was minimal because the traffic was crazy with shoppers!
Line up of cars everywhere

Fun pizza lunch stop
